TOSOVC Contributes to Developing Community-Led Malaria Monitoring Tool in Tabora

 

Tabora, Tanzania - The Tanzania Organization of Serving Orphans and Vulnerable Children (TOSOVC) participated in a crucial workshop held in July 2024 to develop a tool for Community-led Monitoring (CLM) of malaria services. This tool will empower communities to provide feedback on the malaria services they receive when experiencing symptoms.

The workshop was generously sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) . Attendees included officials from the Ministry of Health's Malaria Control Unit and various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

TOSOVC remains committed to this process and will continue to be involved in refining and piloting the tool within communities to ensure its effectiveness and impact.

TOSOVC Raises Awareness for HIV/AIDS Prevention in Kamalampaka Village, Mlele District - Katavi

Kamalampaka Village, Mlele District, Katavi Region – Addressing residents gathered for HIV/AIDS awareness education, a TOSOVC official emphasized that the epidemic is "a scourge devastating the nation's workforce." He particularly highlighted the alarming statistics, stating, "youth are among the most affected and have the highest rates of infection, according to recent data." The official urged the community to adopt responsible practices, stressing "the correct use of protection, regular testing, and accurate adherence to medication for those living with HIV" In addition to the educational session, attendees had the opportunity to voluntarily undergo health screenings and receive counseling.

MPANDA, KATAVI - TOSOVC (The Tanzania Organization Serving Orphans and Vulnerable Children) continues its vital work in educating young minds. The organization's Training and Mobilization Officer, Mr. Ernest Muharuro , recently led an educational session at Mpanda Hotel Primary School in Mpanda Municipality, Katavi Region. As part of TOSOVC's educational program, Mr. Muharuro engaged with children, delivering valuable lessons in a lively and interactive manner. The students learned about their rights , how to avoid acts of violence , and how to identify different types of abuse . Crucially, they were also informed about the appropriate places to report incidents of violence if they ever experience them.
