Ilebula Village, Tanganyika District, Katavi Region – With crucial support from SANKA Company Ltd. , the Tanzania Organization of Serving Orphans and Vulnerable Children (TOSOVC) has successfully delivered vital HIV/AIDS prevention education to both the workers involved in the ongoing road construction project and the surrounding residents in Ilebula village.

Speaking to the community, the Executive Director of TOSOVC stated that the initiative aims to educate both the project's workforce and the surrounding residents, ensuring their interactions do not lead to negative health impacts. He highlighted that "AIDS is a global pandemic," noting that Tanzania alone has 1.5 million people living with HIV, according to WHO statistics.

The official further explained that HIV weakens the body's immune system, making individuals vulnerable to other infections. He strongly advocated for safe sexual practices using protection, regular health check-ups, and strict adherence to medical instructions for those diagnosed with HIV. He reassured those living with the virus, emphasizing, "contracting an infection is not the end of life; ensure you live by following professional guidelines."

Following the educational session, willing community members were offered voluntary testing, counseling, and received condoms for protection.

Eng. Mayira, a representative from TARURA (Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency) , also addressed the residents. He urged them to diligently follow the advice given by the experts, underscoring that this educational initiative is a vital component of road construction projects , utilizing a portion of the project's costs, which are ultimately their taxes.
